Welcome to Troop 138 BSA We meet on Wednsday evenings at 7:30 p.m. at the Saint Michaels Church Hall located behind the church on Church street in Naugatuck. Our meetings are open to all persons interested in participating in Scouting. Visitors may park behind the church in the lot. Our troop has been chartered since 19xx and is sponsored by Saint Michaels Episcopal Church. Membership is open to all boys regardless of religious affiliation. We are associated with the Mattatuck District of the Connecticut Rivers Council. Our program is a mix of Scout camping, cycling and other outdoor activities. We camp at least eight weekends per year in all seasons, either as a troop or with other troops in joint campouts or participate in district or council events. The camping program includes an annual fishing campout in April, and winter cabin camping. We end our season with a week at Scout summer camp. The troop is fortunate to have committee members who are avid cyclers and for this reason we have a significant cycling program. Boys can earn the Cycling merit badge and while doing so, go cycle camping and on bike hikes. In the spirit of " a Scout is helpful" the troop provides service to the community through the organization of and participation in food drives to benefit the local food pantry. We also help our sponsoring body by helping at their annual church fair.
